El Paso

2020 AQHA Buckskin Gelding

We bought El Paso as a weanling while he was still on his mother. High lifed yet gentle & sane, he is a gelding everyone in our family likes to ride. He is finishing out to be one of the extra good ones. He will be working cattle under Alice (8yrs old) this fall. He is her main all day horse right now (since Magic cut his forearm) and the extra "kid time" is perfect to grow his patience. El Paso has never bucked, very soft in the face, a lot of try & ability.

Frequently Asked Questions about El Paso

1How gentle is El Paso?

Alice rides him bareback in a halter to take the cows out in the evening by herself. He is 100% try & very kind, 100% gentle but not slow. Controllable enough for Alice to ride at all gaits, takes his leads for her & dependable for her to ride through all the ranch work we do. El Paso has never bucked & even though he was one of those colts who didn't want to stand still right off, long days pushing cattle into the chutes is just what he needed. These smart ones understand when there is work to be done & then they figure out when it is time to take a break & rest.

2Does anyone else like a smooth moving horse ?

El Paso is SO nice to ride! He will really watch a cow & is smooth & light on his feet. Not a lazy bone in his body. This type takes time to finish right but they are a pleasure to ride. He has been work the extra time it took over a lazy horse. When you are riding a really nice willing horse it is a lot more fun.
