Scotch
2019 AQHA Buttermilk Buckskin Gelding
We bought Scotch as a 2 year old.
We have had his training from the ground up. Very laid back to start & a very tolerant personality. We can catch him up any time, saddle up (no warm up needed) and lope of from the barn corral. He has a very good ground covering walk & can really stride out, any gait faster than a walk he prefers to take slow. Rides out alone well, never spooks at anything (never has), & he will tolerate about anything being done on his back too. He has had the long hours of ranch riding that make them go where you point them.
Scotch is very much a habit horse. Training him to respond to a cue takes many more repetitions than a "highly sensitive" horse would, but once he has it he will do it for anybody & the rider doesn't have to ask perfectly.
He is well broke & has a good neck rein, back, sidepass, opens gates, & a super nice lope off.
Frequently Asked Questions about Scotch
Scotch is a very tolerant anybody can ride gelding. Great walk, slow trot & lope. He is gentle enough that I would go out, catch him in the pasture, and ride him home in a halter bareback when he was a three year old.
Scotch is laid back yet still has a good ground covering walk, good looks & a beautiful long & thick main tail. Good feet, tremendous bone, & a very stout made horse. He will have a high tolerance for rider mistakes. Add to that he is that buckskin everyone wants! All together makes him a very desirable gelding that we are happy to offer.
